Priya S. Nayar has been appointed as the Executive Director of the New York office of University Alliance Ruhr. Nayar previously held the position of Director of the North American Office of Hochschule Fresenius. Her main responsibilities at UA Ruhr will include managing operations, promoting degrees, exchange and research programs of the UA Ruhr universities, maintaining existing and establishing new UA Ruhr partnerships with American universities and companies.

Nayar has worked in the intersection of higher education, communications, and internationalization since 2005 and has been associated with organizations such as UNICEF and DAV Schools. She formerly opened the study center for Hochschule Fresenius in New York City in 2016 – the first of its kind for a German higher education institution. In her preceding capacities, she supported the north American liaison offices of Freie Universität Berlin and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. She remains an active member of the DWIH – German Center for Research and Innovation as well as the German American Chambers of Commerce. Nayar received her graduate degree from the New School for Public Engagement and her undergraduate degree from the Honors College at Adelphi University.
